{inspiration} wooden shapes & washi

cute little project to do with the kids.. mess free and relatively safe and simple..

simply cover the wooden shape with washi tape, trim roughly with scissors and
then file down the edges to get a smooth finish

I picked up a little bag full of these little guys from 'doc's wooden den' at a
local market I attended recently.

You can cover both sides with the same pattern or just coordinating colours.
I also let the edge raw wood, but you could cover this
with contrasting tape if you don't like the wood look.

{inspiration} washi tape

You may have noticed that the largest section in the ink. paper. cloth. store by far is the washi tape section. Some of my friends are wondering and constantly asking me what is the obsession with this fancy pants sticky tape.. and although there are so many ideas floating in my head, its kind of hard to explain a lot of the time.

I've also been asked to do a workshop to demonstrate how washi tape works, what it does, and what you can do with it. Needless to say I've been busy busy making little goodies for the demonstration, but will have to wait to share the photos in a couple of months. Just to keep the workshop a bit of a surprise.

So, I've hunted around and picked out some gorgeous ideas from around the web to share with you and get you inspired to create with washi tape.
